Is Bristol Better for Property than Bath

Bristol and Bath are two of the prettiest cities in Britain and are only a few miles apart. Connected by train, bus and road, you can get between the two fairly easily and quickly depending on your selection of transport. They both share some characteristics but in terms of size Bristol dominates and is what can only be called a proper city. When comparing the two you might use size as your starting point, followed by the lifestyle and goings on in each.

Bath is better known for its Roman history, especially the Roman Baths that attract so many tourists each year. With the beautiful Avon river winding its way through the heart of the city you really feel more like you are in a country town than with the muddy banks of the Bristol end of the river. The yellow Bath Stone buildings that wind their way up the slopes and hills of bath give it an old-world picturesque feel. The center features many of the same high street names a Bristol but they just make things look better. 

Bath is also unique in the UK in that it’s main sporting venue is in the middle of town. Bath RUFC is situated next to the river and brings in crowds to the town center every game day. Bristol on the other hand has more traditional stadiums including Ashton Gate located a bit further out of town.

Do you want the busy streets of Bath city centre, crammed full of tourists or something a little more peaceful on the downs. Bristol has the same but a bit more spread out and you can avoid the crowds by moving to Knowle, Redland or Clifton.
